Outdoor and Adventure

No matter what you love about the outdoors, there are a wealth of adventurous activities and outings in and around Port Germein, make it your base for all there is to do in the Southern Flinders Ranges.

From walking tours taking in art, heritage and nature, to beaches right up and down the coast. There are coastal and mountain cycling and hiking tracks as well as sporting activities include bowls, tennis, golf and more…

Aquatic pursuits include crabbing and fishing from the beach, your boat or the jetty, along with a range of other watersports. There’s plenty for adults and children alike, including a number of facilities designed just to keep the kids entertained.

An extensive network of bushwalking trails give visitors the opportunity to experience the dramatic scenery, spectacular geological landforms and native wildlife of the Southern Flinders Ranges. These trails cater for all ages and levels of fitness, varying in length and difficulty from challenging overnight treks and the long distance Heysen Trail to the easier and shorter walks at Alligator Gorge and Mambray Creek.

Nature abounds in our sparsely populated region, so you can easily get amongst it whether you are exploring coastal birdlife and intertidal zones including mangroves, checking out our gorges, or taking time out in the hinterlands and mountainous ranges that make this region iconic.
